Maj Neil Weddell, co-chair of Humanists & Non-Religious in Defence, will be looking at diversity from the viewpoint of unconscious bias.

For the last 18 years Major Weddell has been working with the national and international defence communities. He is studying for a Human Resources PhD looking at ways to improve team dynamics in multinational groups.

Working within NATO, he is using self-awareness training to decrease unconscious bias and measuring its effect on trust, inclusiveness and professional capability.

Major Waddell iis also a humanist celebrant and is responsible for ensuring the provision of pastoral care throughout the defence community.
